I did it!

The encouragement from this group has prompted me to join a figure drawing class.

Friday I was able to attend a group that has many talented participants. Most important is that I took the first step. Dang, that foreshortening concept is tough. The next day I started a new watercolor class and, wham-o, did I learn a lot! Oh boy, this is fun.

My goal this year is to think more about me. Hey, my sons are adults and my husband is quite happy-especially when the weather is good for a round of golf. I've been blessed to do my art over the years, but I "mothered". Not this year. Worry free art.

Good for you! Foreshortening is really hard . I'm strange though, I like it (Not that I've mastered it you understand :))The trick is to use your pencil to to measure and help you see - but if it's a class they will teach you this I would hope. Have fun!

and people worry about "empty nest" - HAH!!! (lol) Look at what you've captured - very very solid stuff in this page - really nice lines. What a great start! Looking forward to more of your posting.

These are AWESOME! =) I never get tired of looking at figure sketches, it illustrates where your eyes were focusing on, and that to me is really interesting.
Great job!!!

I think you did very well with the foreshortening. I find it really hard to do, too. I'm glad you're having such fun with your art - that's how it's supposed to be! nancy

Hurray for you! You deserve the pampering of your inner artist! And these are wonderful figure sketches! Is this a class, or a group?

Nice job. I don't know how much thought you put into the way you placed the figures on the page, but I really like the way it came out.
