Quilted mosaic

Mandala Joy 16 1/2" x 16 1/2"

Recently I took a quilt workshop from a talented woman, Julie Hirota.
She introduced us to the idea of creating a mosaic out of fabric. The colored fabric is bonded to the a product that is then heat set to the base fabric, which is black for this project. After the design is set, the quilting begins.
The possibilities for design are really unlimited.

What a great idea! I like the way it turned out. Also, ever since I read about the Creative Drawing Book and seen what you've been doing with it, I've been looking for a copy of it I could afford - it's really expensive. Anyhow, I recently found one online and am waiting for it to get here - I'm excited about it! nancy
